Who’s got the form?

Beaten by Pakistan in their tournament opener, New Zealand responded in fine style against India, dealing a huge blow to Virat Kohli's side while putting themselves in pole position to join Pakistan in the semi-finals from their group if they can continue winning. They showed a deadly efficiency against India, restricting the pre-competition favourites to just 110 for 7 from their 20 overs before knocking off that target with ease.

Scotland, on the other hand, have gone off the boil since qualifying for the Super 12s. They were rolled by Afghanistan and then well beaten by Namibia, with Kyle Coetzer missing through injury. They are all but out, given their net run rate, so will want to finish an encouraging tournament with three better performances.

What are the odds?

Dafabet have installed New Zealand as heavy favourites for this match, offering odds of 1/20. Scotland, rank outsiders, are available at 10/1.

Who are the ones to watch?

Daryl Mitchell had never opened the batting in T20 cricket before New Zealand arrived in the UAE, but he has made his presence felt in the role. He was key in their successful chase against India.

The game was won with the ball, though: Adam Milne, Tim Southee and Trent Boult represent a fearsome triumvirate of seamers, while Ish Sodhi and Mitch Santner are perhaps underestimated by some as white-ball spinners. Batter Glenn Phillips, meanwhile, is New Zealand's highest-ranked player on the T20 Player Index.

George Munsey is still yet to have the match-defining innings that many expected of him at this tournament, though he remains the dangerman at the top of the order for Scotland.

What's the team news?

New Zealand will likely be unchanged following their success against India: Adam Milne has slotted into the side as a replacement for Lockie Ferguson, who was ruled out of the competition through injury.

Scotland will hope to have captain Kyle Coetzer fit again after he missed the defeat against Namibia.
