Hamid Hassan hobbles off as Afghanistan's woes deepen

The 32-year-old hobbled off the field after bowling his second over in Pakistan's innings at Headingley

Afghanistan bowler Hamid Hassan hobbled off the field after bowling just two overs in Pakistan's reply to Afghanistan's 227 for nine at Headingley.

The 32-year-old, who was playing in what is likely to be his last ODI, took himself off the field after suffering an alleged left hamstring injury upon the completion of his second over.

Hassan had been struggling with injuries and fitness in the buildup to the World Cup and in the tournament itself, and called it a day by signalling to captain Gulbadin Naib of his intentions to leave the field.

The fast bowler went for 13 runs from his two overs, and his injury has now deepened the problems for Naib for the remainder of the match.

The incident occurred with Babar Azam and Imam ul-Haq at the crease for Pakistan, who lost Fakhar Zaman early to the bowling of Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
