Sky Sports viewers will hear the familiar voice of David Gower once again this month after the former England captain was confirmed on the Pakistan Super League commentary panel.

Gower and Sky parted ways after the 2019 Ashes at the end of a long association, and while the 63-year-old has since enjoyed stints on Test Match Special, he has yet to return behind the microphone for TV coverage.

That will change from this weekend, when Gower joins the team calling the shots in the PSL - with the feed being taken by Sky.

He will be part of the broadcasts for the Karachi leg of the competition, which lasts from February 20 until March 7 when the tournament moves to Lahore.

Gower is joined on the commentary roster by the likes of Alan Wilkins, Danny Morrison, Pommie Mbangwa, Sana Mir, Dominic Cork and Ramiz Raja.

Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators will open up the 2021 PSL on Saturday evening.

Stadiums will be allowed to host fans at 20 per cent capacity during the tournament, with strict Covid-19 measures in place. They include the compulsory wearing of masks in the stands - the PSL are operating a "no mask, no entry" policy throughout the competition, while groups - which must come entirely from the same household - will be separated by at least two seats.

Full PSL commentary panel: Alan Wilkins, Bazid Khan, Danny Morrison, Sana Mir, David Gower, JP Duminy, Pommie Mbangwa, Urooj Mumtaz, Dominic Cork, Ramiz Raja, Zainab Abbas, Simon Doull, Sikandar Bakht, Tariq Saeed
