What's the match?

Perth Scorchers take on Hobart Hurricanes in the 15th game of the 2021-22 Big Bash.

When is it taking place?

The game is set for Monday, December 20. The first ball will be bowled at 5:15pm local time (8:15am GMT).

Where is the match being played?

The game will be held at the Blundstone Arena in Hobart.

Who's got the form?

Perth Scorchers have begun imperiously and unbeaten. These sides have already met once, when Mitchell Marsh carried his T20 World Cup form into the Big Bash, smashing an unbeaten century despite others around him struggling.

In reply, their bowlers took over; there is perhaps no more balanced attack in the competition, with a pair of left-armers in Jason Behrendorff and Tymal Mills, as well as Andrew Tye's death-bowling skills. Ashton Agar and Peter Hatzoglou are the spinners in Ashton Turner's side.

That was their most recent win, but they had already proven their credentials in the hammering of Adelaide Strikers, which featured a Colin Munro century, having already seen off Brisbane Heat in their opener - a victory indebted to the runs of Kurtis Patterson and the pace of Matt Kelly.

Hobart are mightily dangerous themselves, however, with Matthew Wade and D'Arcy Short at the top of the order, and a batting line-up that also features Tim David, Ben McDermott and Harry Brook. They have won only once so far, though: a big win over reigning champions Sydney Sixers.

What's the key match-up?

How Perth's bowlers fare against the Wade-Short axis might go a long way to deciding the destination of the points in Hobart. When the pair came off against Sixers, they did enough between them to clinch an impressive result. But when they have struggled to get going - like in the reverse fixtures against Sixers and Scorchers - they fell short.

Beyond the two left-handers, Hurricanes's explosive batting order has struggled to get going: much is expected of Brook, while Caleb Jewell is their third-highest run-scorer with just 64 in three innings.

The return of McDermott after Australia A duties should help: he struck 41 in his first game back.

Who are the umpires?

Gerard Abood and Anthony Wilds are the men in the middle for this one.

What's the weather forecast?

A mild day in Hobart, with temperatures expected to peak around 21 degrees celsius and a chance of scattered showers.

What are the squads?

Perth Scorchers: Ashton Agar, Cameron Bancroft, Jason Behrendorff, Cooper Connolly, Laurie Evans, Aaron Hardie, Peter Hatzoglou, Nick Hobson, Josh Inglis, Matthew Kelly, Mitch Marsh, Tymal Mills, Lance Morris, Colin Munro, Kurtis Patterson, Jhye Richardson (David Moody), Aston Turner, Andrew Tye
