What’s the match?

Perth Scorchers take on Brisbane Heat in the 53rd game of the 2021-22 Big Bash season.

When is it taking place?

The game is scheduled for 8:15pm local time (9:15am GMT).

Where is the match being played?

The game will be held at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.

Who's got the form?

Scorchers and Heat face-off in a virtual dead rubber in Melbourne.

Having secured top spot and a place in the Qualifier, Scorchers round off their group campaign searching for their 11th regular-season win.

It has been a routine run to the playoffs for Perth after winning their opening six games in a row.

But it hasn't been a campaign purely about individuals, with Adam Voges' side not possessing any of the tournament's top two wicket-takers or eight highest run-scorers.

Defeat to Melbourne Stars ended the Heat's hopes of progressing to the playoffs.

The only target between now and the end of the season is to avoid the ignominy of finishing bottom of the table.

They currently sit level on points with Melbourne Renegades with two games remaining, with a superior net run-rate the only thing separating them from Aaron Finch's side.

Renegades take on Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Thunder in their final two matches.

What's the key match-up?

Andrew Tye has arguably been the Scorchers' outstanding performer of BBL 11, taking 19 wickets at 17.57 with an economy rate of 7.85.

He's recovered well from being withdrawn from the attack against Sydney Thunder after bowling two waist-high no balls at Alex Ross.

Few of the Heat batting line-up will emerge from BBL 11 with credit, but Ben Duckett can certainly consider his maiden campaign to be a success.

The Notts Outlaws batter has top-scored for Heat with 242 runs at a strike rate of 135.02.

This will be his penultimate opportunity to test himself in Australia before he moves onto the Pakistan Super League where he will represent Quetta Gladiators.

Who are the umpires?

Umpires will appear here when available.

What's the weather forecast?

Overcast skies are forecast in Melbourne but it should remain dry, with temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius.

What are the squads?

Brisbane Heat: Tom Abell, Xavier Bartlett, James Bazley, Max Bryant, Tom Cooper, Ben Duckett, Liam Guthrie, Sam Heazlett, Matt Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne (Nathan McSweeney), Chris Lynn, Michael Neser (Cameron Gannon), Jimmy Pierson, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Will Prestwidge, Mark Steketee, Mitchell Swepson (Hugo Burdon), Jack Wildermuth

What are the odds?

What’s the prediction?

Ahead of the Qualifier, Scorchers will be eager to ensure they're in top form and should be enough to get past Heat.
