What's the match?

Mumbai Indians take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

When is it taking place?

The match will be played Tuesday, May 17 with play starting at 7.30pm local time (3pm GMT).

Where is the match being played?

The game will be held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Who's got the form?

For one of the first times this season, Mumbai Indians will be coming up against a team in worse form than themselves. Sunrisers Hyderabad are on a five-match losing streak and have not looked like arresting their slide in the last two games: 54-run and 67-run thrashings to KKR and RCB respectively.

Mumbai, by contrast, lost their first eight games but have now won three out of four, the latest being a comfortable five-wicket victory over fellow strugglers Chennai Super Kings.

Neither side can qualify for the play-offs but pride is at stake, especially for MI, who will be looking to restore some confidence after a thoroughly disappointing campaign.

Perhaps the only ray of sunlight for MI is the form of 19-year-old prodigy Talik Varma, who scored 61 from 33 balls against Rajasthan Royals and top-scored in matches against CSK and LSG.

Varma finds himself sandwiched between fellow IPL young-guns Abhishek Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad in 10th on the list of IPL 2022 top run-scorers.

What's the key match-up?

SRH’s stuttering batting line-up will feel they can find some much-needed form against a depleted MI bowling attack.

In a season where even Jasprit Bumrah has at times not looked himself, Mumbai will be praying that Jofra Archer returns to form and fitness to rejuvenating the team.

It was no surprise that Tim David's recall to the Mumbai Indians team coincided with a rare run of wins for the five-time champions. Now that they appear to be putting faith in him, they are reaping the benefits from a player who continues to impress wherever he plays in the world.

Head-to-head record

Matches played: 18

Mumbai Indians wins: 8

Sunrisers Hyderabad wins: 10

What's the weather forecast?

A warm day is expected in Mumbai, with highs of 33 degrees Celsius, falling to 30 degrees by the first ball of the match.

What are the odds?

The bookies make Mumbai Indians favourites for this match with 5/6 odds. SRH are 11/10 to win tomorrow.

What's the prediction?

For the first time in weeks, Mumbai Indians bring some decent form into this match. SRH need to start winning if they want to escape being bracketed with CSK and MI. But the five-time champions should edge this one.
