Big Hitters - Case of 6 Australian wines

The Cricketer is delighted to offer this case of six Australian wines to coincide with the 2021/22 Ashes series.

Coriole Estate, Nero, McLaren Vale, Australia – V, Vg

100% Nero d'Avola Coriole produces a fruit-forward, early drinking style.

Abundant aromas of ripe, red cherries, sage flower and berry bramble. The alluring colour is reminiscent of cherry and juicy red berries. A wonderfully fruit-forward, easy-drinking wine with a velvety, round palate; fine, supple tannins and a delicate, lingering finish.

Coriole Estate, Fiano, McLaren Vale, Australia – V, Vg

100% Fiano

The intriguing nose keeps you going back for further exploration; white nectarine, butter-poached fruit, baked apple, fresh cut hay and lemon curd. The palate is beautifully balanced with great natural acidity, a soft, creamy texture and an array of citrus and stone fruit characters.

De Bortoli, Regional Reserve Pinot Noir, Victoria, Australia

100% Pinot Noir

Medium red with brightness. Expressive Pinot, classic strawberry and red cherry, perfumed. Soft, plump, textural, spice, gentle acidity.

Try with a braised rib eye steak!

Keith Tulloch, Semillon, Hunter Valley, Australia

100% Semillon

It beams with delicate, zesty, lemon and lime-fruit plus fine perfumes and flavours of fresh cut lemongrass and white flowers. A taut, wonderfully crisp style with citrus-zing energy and notable length, all the hallmarks of this classic Hunter white.

Perfect with light and delicate fish dishes, prawns and freshly shucked oysters.

Trentham Estate Shiraz, Murray Darling, Australia – V, Vg

100% Shiraz

Dark vibrant red in colour with lifted aromas of black cherry and chocolate. On the palate concentrated dark fruit flavours are complimented by subtle oak characters of mocha and spice. Full bodied and well-structured with firm ripe tannins providing balance and length.

Perfect with grilled red meat, slow cooked lamb shoulder, rich saucy casserole.

Trentham Estate Chardonnay, Murray River, Australia – V, Vg

100% Chardonnay

Classic dry white. Light straw green with sweet peach and grilled citrus aromas complementing the soft, spicy oak on the nose. The generous palate offers hazelnut & nectarine with hints of spicy preserved lemon with a long and elegant finish.

Enjoy with grilled trout, niçoise salad or juicy roast chicken.

The Super 6 - Case of 6 Australian wines

The Cricketer is delighted to offer this case of six Australian wines to coincide with the 2021/22 Ashes series.

Rolleston Vale Chardonnay, New South Wales, Australia

100% Chardonnay

Rolleston Vales Chardonnay is very much fruit driven with bags of peachy & tropical tones, there's oak there, but its subtle notes of butterscotch integrate beautifully allowing them to complement not dominate the wine.

Perfect with white meat dishes, try with a grilled chicken salad.

Rolleston Vale Shiraz, Australia

100% Shiraz

An approachable Aussie Shiraz from the high-altitude vineyards of the Oatley family. Rolleston Vale Shiraz is packed with rich dark berry fruit and a hint of spice on the finish. The fresh style makes it highly versatile.

Perfect with spicy dishes, like Mexican Fajitas or Cajun Chicken.

De Bortoli, VAT 1 Durif, Riverina, Australia

Durif / Viognier blend

On the nose, plums, blueberries with violets and liquorice, underpinned by the well-integrated chocolate oak. A rich and flavoursome wine displaying plum, black cherry and liquorice. Fine chewy tannins, complemented by the chocolate oak making it a generous and complete wine.

Try with grilled rib eye steak & crispy garlic potatoes or after a meal with vintage cheddar cheese.

De Bortoli, Willowglen Gewurztraminer/ Riesling, Riverina, Australia

Gewurztraminer/ Riesling blend.

Rose petal aromas with a hint of spice and fresh citrus. The palate is sweet, with rosewater Traminer characters complemented by the Riesling adding a citrus freshness.

Try with spicy pork buns or if you're adventurous, venison salad with Thai herbs.

River Retreat Pinot Noir, Murray Darling, Australia – V, Vg

100% Pinot Noir, aged with select French oak before blending and bottling

Medium ruby red in colour with flavours and aromas of strawberry and light spice. Soft and savoury with balance and length.
