In January 2019, Ella Chandler appeared on BBC Breakfast to talk about the abuse she had witnessed as a referee in grassroots football.

Having represented England at development level from a young age, the Hampshire batsman has plenty of strings to her bow.

A student paramedic on the side, she has been part of the Covid-19 vaccination effort.

In the past, she also spent three weeks in Rwanda providing education for young people around HIV awareness, as well as coaching cricket to them.

Prior to the outbreak of the pandemic, Chandler spent the winter playing for Canterbury Women in New Zealand.

In 2018, she made 56 in Charlotte Edwards’ final List A appearance – a 66-run win against Middlesex that secured a first Royal London One-Day Cup title.
