Trinidad: St Lucia Kings 147-6, Trinbago Knight Riders 146-6 - St Lucia Kings won by 1 run

Scorecard

St Lucia Kings banked a third successive Caribbean Premier League win by the barest of margins at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

The Kings kept their play-off push on course with a single-run success, as Trinbago Knight Riders' pursuit of 148 for victory fell just short despite late fireworks by Andre Russell.

Russell bulldozed his way to 23 from 11 balls at the death, while Sunil Narine added a 14-ball unbeaten 19, but the Knight Riders had left themselves too much to do, with 44 needed from the final three-and-a-half overs.

Roston Chase provided the decisive hand with the ball for St Lucia, claiming 3 for 17 from his four overs, including a stint in the powerplay - which proved crucial as he removed three Trinbago batsmen in the first four overs.

Tim Seifert's run-a-ball 44 was ultimately too slow, while Kieron Pollard's 23-ball 34 did not quite give the Knight Riders the impetus they required.

Earlier, Johnson Charles was in the runs once again as St Lucia posted a competitive total. Charles struck 54 from 46 deliveries at the top of the order, but the Kings lost regular wickets around him and only a late burst by David Wiese - 33 from 14 balls - ensured his side of a target which could be defended.
