Hayley Brown actually made her county debut for Huntingdonshire, facing Cambridgeshire in 2014 as a talented teenager coming through the ranks.

It was a year later that she joined Northamptonshire, for whom she still turns out to this day.

There was success soon afterwards, playing a role in the team that won the County Championship and Twenty20 Cup in 2017, topping the run-scoring charts in the 50-over competition.

That was a feat she repeated in 2019, when her 232 runs included an unbeaten century against – somewhat ironically – a combined Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire side.

Overall, in that year she struck 445 runs at an average just under 56.
