Chris Gayle's Indian Premier League sixes record is the achievement Jos Buttler most coverts, according to the Rajasthan Royals keeper-batter.

Asked in a quickfire interview by ESPNCricinfo which competition record he would like to break the most, he replied: "Most sixes in a match".

Gayle currently holds the record, clearing the rope 17 times during Royal Challengers Bangalore's victory over Pune Warriors in Bengaluru in April 2015.

The effort came while the West Indies legend was putting on the highest score in IPL history of 175 not out.

He also holds the all-time T20 record of 18, recorded when he hammered 146 off 69 deliveries in the Bangladesh Premier League final in 2017 for Rangpur Riders against Dhaka Dynamites.

Buttler has some way to go to match Gayle, with his own IPL best standing at seven sixes struck against Mumbai Indians in 2019 - a match he identifies as his best in the franchise tournament.

During the exchange, the Lancashire man also identified England teammate Moeen Ali as the bowler he is most looking forward to facing during the IPL.

Moeen was picked up for £700,000 by Chennai Super Kings during the mini-auction and is expected to be a key member of their side in 2021.

Both players will not have to wait long to face each other, with Royals taking on CSK in Mumbai on April 15 before the reverse fixture in Delhi on May 5.
