What's the match?

Multan Sultans take on Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.

When is it taking place?

The game is set for Wednesday, February 16. The first ball will be bowled at 7:30pm local time (2:30pm GMT).

Where is the match being played?

The game will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Who's got the form?

Multans Sultans have been the dominant side in PSL7, beginning the tournament with a six-match unbeaten run.

However, the defending champions were brought back down to earth with a bump in their most recent outing, losing to Lahore Qalandars by 52 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium. In a rare off day for the Sultans batters, they were bowled out for 130 while chasing 182 - the first time this season they've lost all 10 wickets.

They remain top of the table with a two-point cushion over Lahore Qalandars.

At the opposite end of the table are Karachi Kings who are yet to win a match in 2022 and are already out of playoff contention.

Babar Azam's side came agonisingly close to ending their unwelcome streak on February 14, losing to Islamabad United by one run. However, they only had themselves to blame after a poor death bowling display allowed Islamabad to recover from 107 for 5 in the 14th over to 191 for 7 at close.

What's the key match-up?

Karachi Kings were on top of Islamabad United for much of Monday's clash and successfully neutralised Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Alex Hales, Muhammad Akhlaq and Shadad Khan. However, at the death they were woeful, conceding 84 runs off the final 40 balls. Umaid Asif was the main culprit, leaking 41 runs from his final two overs.

And this is a concern against a Multan Sultans side stacked with batting talent.

Not only are openers Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan second and third in the overall run charts, they also have a tricky middle order headed up by man of the moment, Tim David. The Singapore international has scored 221 runs at a strike rate of 206.54.

Khushdil Shah (88 runs, 209.52 strike rate) and Rilee Rossouw (110 runs, 159.42 strike rate) have also shown their finisher credentials during PSL7 and could make things ugly for Karachi Kings.
