Sydney: Perth Scorchers 195-1, Adelaide Strikrs 146 - Perth Scorchers won by 49 runs

Colin Munro's fourth T20 century inspired Perth Scorchers to a second straight victory at the start of the Big Bash against Adelaide Strikers at an empty Sydney Showground Stadium.

The New Zealander carved an unbeaten 114 from 73 balls - the highest score in the team's BBL history.

Scorchers finished on 195 for 1 with Cameron Bancroft (45) and Ashton Turner (14) playing handy supporting roles.

Strikers initially started the chase well, reaching 58 for 1 in seven overs but a regular fall of wickets snuffed out their chase.

Harry Nielson and Jonathan Wells were dismissed in single figures before dangerman Matthew Short (63) was caught behind off Matthew Kelly.

Thomas Kelly crunched 26 from 15 balls but none of the tail reached double figures as they fell 49 runs short, bowled out for 146 with 13 balls remaining.

Jason Behrendorff claimed 3 for 22 and finished off the innings by bowling Peter Siddle (0) and getting Daniel Worrall.

Andrew Tye was another key figure towards the twilight of the chase, getting Rashid Khan first ball as part of a return of 3 for 21.

"We spoke after the last game that we needed to up the ante in the field and without a crowd that's pretty hard but we did it today," said Munro

"Big Mitchell Marsh and [Inglis] coming back will be big for us. When you have to keep moving franchises, you always have to prove yourself so to come back to the same franchise, same playing group and not have to focus on the outcome is pretty cool.

"We have to be adaptable and wherever we end up playing games, we just have to do it the best way we can.

"It helps that most of the players are based in Perth so to come in as an overseas player, it's easier to fit in to this environment."
