The Mumbai Indians pair combined to deadly effect to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 runs on Saturday (April 17)
Trent Boult has paid tribute to fellow Mumbai Indians quick Jasprit Bumrah after the pair combined to help beat Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The defending champions were defending 151 in their third game of the competition in Chennai.
David Warner's side needed 31 from 24 balls with five wickets in hand and were favourites to claim their first win of the tournament.
But Boult and Bumrah returned for their final two overs each and rounded off the innings to secure a 13-run success.
After Hardik Pandya ran out Abdul Samad (7), New Zealander Boult trapped Rashid Khan (0) lbw.
Meanwhile, Bumrah conceded just nine runs from his final 12 deliveries and got Vijay Shankar (28) from his penultimate ball.
That laid the platform for Boult to complete the win with two wickets in the final over.
"It's great to see a guy (Bumrah) like that operate," said the ex-Delhi Capitals bowler. "How clear he is with what he is doing with the ball throughout his whole spell.
"But at the death, I personally believe, he is one of the best death bowlers in the world. He makes my job a heck of a lot easier.
"It is always nice being on the right side of those situations. Hopefully, we can get a bit of momentum into this tournament."
