Starc hasn't played in the BBL since 2014/15 and will continue to shaft franchise cricket to ensure he is fit for the demanding international calendar
Mitchell Starc will again swerve this summer's Big Bash League to ensure he is fully fit and available for Australia.
The 32-year-old hasn't played in the competition since 2014/15, forgoing $10 million (£5.63m), and has no plans to change that policy.
Cricket Australia are keen for more of their high-profile players to feature in the tournament, with Steve Smith in line to play this season.
But a rigorous international schedule leaves Starc will little choice.
"The schedule in the next 18 months is ridiculous," Starc said, according to cricket.com.au.
"I will always keep Australian cricket front of mind, and then franchise cricket (second).
"I also like spending time at home and seeing my wife (Alyssa Healy)."

Currently in Sri Lanka, Australia host Zimbabwe, New Zealand and West Indies before facing England on either side of a home T20 World Cup.
The Windies and South Africa Tests series are scheduled across November, December and January ahead of the BBL window for Australia players.
CA officials want a permanent BBL window in the calendar to allow their internationals to regularly appear.
"I have always enjoyed the BBL when I have played it but my approach with all franchise cricket hasn't changed over the last seven years," Starc, who has played 10 times for Sydney Sixers, added.
"My approach to the IPL, BBL, I have looked at the Australian schedule and wanting to be as fit and well-performed for that as I can.
"And franchise cricket has taken a back seat."
Next year promises to be no less intense, with Australia bound for India, England before having a 50-over World Cup to consider.
