Scorecard

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have kept their hopes of reaching the 2022 Caribbean Premier League playoffs alive with a tight win over TKR.

The defending champions, playing in their final group match, beat the four-time winners by seven runs but only have a three-point cushion over sixth-placed Guyana Amazon Warriors, who have three games in hand.

Batting first in Providence, Sherfane Rutherford, batting at No.4, rescued his side from a poor start, scoring 78 runs off 50 deliveries to steer them to 163 for 6 at close – after 8.2 overs, they had 28 for 3 on the board.

Dewald Brevis also chipped in with a lighting cameo, blasting five of the six deliveries he faced for six to finished not out on 30 (6).

Daryn Dupavillon (3 for 38) led the way with the ball for TKR while Sunil Narine recorded economical figures of 0 for 13.

In reply, Tim Seifert scored a half-century (59 off 47) at the top of the order but with Andre Russell (29 off 17) the only other player to find any joy against St Kitts' bowlers and three wickets falling in the final 12 balls, TKR fell agonisingly short of victory.

Kevin Sinclair and Rashid Khan were the stars with the ball, taking 2 for 18 and 0 for 12, respectively.

TKR, currently in fifth position, have one match remaining in the group stages and face Guyana Amazon Warriors on September 25.
