Injury set to sideline South Africa bowler for three months, meaning he will no longer be able to feature for Delhi Daredevils in this year's IPL
South Africa's Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out for three months due to a lower-back injury.
Rabada was set to represent Delhi in the Indian Premier League - the club forked out 4.20 crore in the auction for his services.
Mohammad Moosajee, South Africa's team manager, said the player will be taking a month off from all physical activity.
"Kagiso has been diagnosed with a lower-back stress reaction which will rule him out of cricket action for up to three months.
"He will need a month's break from all physical activity before commencing with a rehabilitation programme to get him ready for the series against Sri Lanka in July."
Rabada had just been named player of the series in South Africa's 3-1 victory over Australia. He took 23 wickets at 19.26, including his fourth ten-wicket haul in Test cricket.
