The off-spinner played four times in the Second XI Championship last season, helping the club reach the final against Hampshire
Nat Bowley has signed professional terms with Leicestershire ahead of the 2020 season, the club have announced.
The 18-year-old off-spinner becomes the second player to be promoted from the academy during the winter, following the addition of Alex Evans.
Bowley made four Second XI Championship appearances last season as Leicestershire reached the final, where they were beaten by Hampshire, taking two wickets in five innings.
"I am absolutely buzzing," said the teenager.
"It is a club that I have been at since I was 13 and is a club really close to me – I’m really excited to be on board."
Head coach Paul Nixon added: "Nat has got a great attitude and has been around professional environments for a few years now with his father who works at Leicester City Football Club.
"He is a wonderful young man with a quality attitude and high skill levels with the ball. It is clear that he has been working hard and making great progress with his batting as well.
"We are delighted with his progression and have rewarded him with his first contact."
