PLAYER RATINGS: Jason Roy and Jos Buttler lead the way as England win again

The Cricketer runs the rule over the individual performances of both sets of players during the third ODI between the Netherlands and England

NETHERLANDS

Vikram Singh (6): After an impressive spring in Dutch orange, a difficult summer for Vikram, who was hurried by a good short ball from Willey. Sprinted around the outfield gamely. 3

Max O'Dowd (50): Another good start provided by the stocky, floppy-haired opener until he edged a Livingstone leg-break behind on an even 50. 7

Tom Cooper (33): Was looking really assured on the straight drive in particular until he didn't quite get hold of Carse. After dismissing Eoin Morgan last game, didn't bowl this time.

Bas de Leede (56 & 0-22): The first fifty of the series for a Netherlands-born player, and at a decent lick too. Was a shame he flopped Carse to square leg. Let's hope he can be an inspiration to young Dutch cricketers. His bowling proved very hittable again, mind.

Scott Edwards (64): The Netherlands' man of the series, with three consecutive half-centuries, though did miss out on two free hits off Carse. Was left stranded with the tail. Predictably found it hard to stop boundaries in the chase. Overbowled van Beek a bit. 7.5

Teja Nidamanuru (4): Nervy innings ended early when he shuffled down and missed Rashid's leggie. 3

Logan van Beek (0 & 0-48): His bowling was milked. At the crease, out-thought by Willey, and turned his bat too early to be caught at mid-off.

Tim Pringle (6 & 0-50): Innings ended early by a run out mix-up with Edwards. Tried to put the brakes on England's scoring rate, but was manoeuvred around fairly easily.

Aryan Dutt (0 & 0-22): Cleaned up by a Willey yorker. Started well with the ball but blown away come the end.

Fred Klaassen (3* & 0-42): Ran in with heart after coming over on Tuesday to sneak in a game after Blast action for Kent, but dropped an easy return catch off Roy.

Paul van Meekeren (2 & 2-59): Briefly enlivened the run chase with a double strike in the 10th over, taking advantage of slight variable bounce. Buttler tore into him at the end, though.

ENGLAND

Jason Roy (101*): An authoritative platform laid by England's seasoned opener, who ensured boundaries came at a decent lick. Another rollicking hundred with an incredible range of shots.

Phil Salt (49): Looked very good in reaching 49 until he tried a second booming drive in short order.

Dawid Malan (0): The one batting failure, misjudging the bounce to van Meekeren. Good running catch close in, though, and effected the run out of Pringle.

Jos Buttler (86*): Stepped into the captaincy and settled the game in a steadying hand. His pick-ups over the off-side are a thing to behold. And then he started cutting loose as if in an IPL match, bringing up his 19th six of the series. A solid match behind the stumps, with a catch behind and stumping off the leg-spinners. His tactics managed to contain the Dutch batsmen too.

Liam Livingstone (1-40): Bowled his leggies to the right-handers adeptly. Was defeated by the sun with one catch, but made amends later on to dismiss the set Cooper.

Moeen Ali: His day would be called a TFC in club cricket. Could be seen practising in the nets after the game. Buttler deemed his off-spin surplus to requirements presumably due to the preponderance of right-handers in the Netherlands team.

Sam Curran (0-35): Came back into the side to replace Eoin Morgan, due to the absence of a specialist batsman on the tour. His bowling rationed by Buttler as he comes back from injury.

David Willey (4-36): Bowled with excellent pace and control, using the bouncer to good effect. England's best bowler on the day.

Adil Rashid (1-41): Kept a handle on matters in the middle overs, going for just one boundary in his 10 overs. A misfield which allowed a four, but a good running catch later on.

Brydon Carse (2-49): Bowled with good carry, though his tendency to overstep could potentially be a problem against stronger opposition.

David Payne (1-38): Bowled cannily on debut, and unlucky not to have a maiden wicket when Livingstone lost the ball in the sun at midwicket. Picked up Edwards at the death. His changes of pace could be useful on slower pitches.
