What's the match?

Kolkata Knight Riders take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

When is it taking place?

The match will be played Saturday, May 14 with play starting at 7.30pm local time (3pm GMT).

Where is the match being played?

The teams will face off at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Who's got the form?

Neither side has had much to write home in this season's IPL thanks to both enduring inconsistent campaigns.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are on a four-match losing streak, having once had playoff aspirations. Unless they turn their form around and win their last three they are all but done for.

Kolkata Knight Riders haven't been much better, with their auction recruitment coming under fire. They are level on points with SRH but have played a game more, making it a real uphill struggle as they attempt to pip Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore or Delhi Capitals to a top-four spot.

Two wins out of two would take them to 14 points, but that is unlikely to be sufficient to keep KKR interested beyond the round-robin phase. SRH can still finish on 16 points, but with RCB and RR likely to reach that total and with a better NRR, they too need favours from elsewhere.

What's the key match-up?

Two mainstays of the India team over the past decade could go head-to-head in the powerplay.

Ajinkya Rahane has had in an inconsistent IPL but has been given the opening role next to Venkatesh Iyer in recent times.

He'll be faced with a similar face in the form of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has claimed 10 wickets at an economy rate of 7.17.

Head-to-head record

Matches played: 22

Kolkata Knight Riders wins: 14

Sunrisers Hyderabad wins: 8

What's the weather forecast?

A warm day is expected in Pune, with highs of 36 degrees Celsius, falling to 29 degrees by the first ball of the match.

What are the squads?

Kolkata Knight Riders: Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Varun Chakravarthy, Venkatesh Iyer, Pat Cummins, Nitish Rana, Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Mavi, Sheldon Jackson, Ajinkya Rahane, Rinku Singh, Anukul Roy, Rasikh Dar, Baba Indrajith, Chamika Karunaratne, Abhijeet Tomar, Pratham Singh, Ashok Sharma, Sam Billings, Aaron Finch, Tim Southee, Ramesh Kumar, Mohammad Nabi, Umesh Yadav

What are the odds?

The bookies make Kolkata Knight Riders favourites for this match with 9/10 odds. SRH are 21/20 to win tomorrow.

What's the prediction?

Two inconsistent sides meet with an eye on the playoffs. Sunrisers thrashed KKR in the last meeting hen their form was much better and their ambitions higher. With KKR winning two of their last three – albeit against a stuttering Royals team and the dismal MI – they have some confidence that may just be the difference in this one.
