Pontypool-born batsman Lauren Parfitt is the current captain of Wales, for whom she plays alongside younger sister Georgia.

Remarkably, she made her debut in the County Challenge Cup against Worcestershire at the age of just 13, opening the bowling in a 34-run defeat.

Thereafter, she became a regular player for Wales, reaching her first List A hundred – and carrying her bat in the process – in a win over Essex in 2015.

She took over the Welsh captaincy from Western Storm teammate Claire Nicholas in 2017.

She was included in Storm's Kia Super League squads in 2017 and 2018 but never played in the competition. In the 2021 regional competitions, she was a regular in Storm's side without taking any games by the scruff of the neck.
