Issy Wong burst onto the scene as a teenage pace-bowling sensation and hopes to become the first English woman to clock 80mph.

She was among the youngest players to feature in the Kia Super League, representing Southern Vipers in 2019, and has been among the first names on the teamsheet for Sparks since 2020, taking 29 wickets in all formats for the club. A new-ball specialist, she has formed dangerous partnerships with Emily Arlott and Grace Potts over the past few years.

However, she's not just a blistering quick but also a dynamic pinch hitter – in 2022, she scored 106 runs at a strike rate of 126.19 in the Charlotte Edwards Cup.

Wong is one of the hottest prospects in world cricket, debuting for England in all formats in 2022 and earning contracts in The Hundred, WBBL and, most recently, the WPL. In the latter competition, Wong lifted the title with Mumbai Indians in March 2023, scoring 61 runs (132.60 strike rate) and taking 15 wickets, including a hat-trick in the eliminator.

Wong's need for speed is also a feature of her off-field life, with the young gun once solving a Rubik's Cube live on Sky Sports in just 33 seconds. She's often heard commentating on cricket and enjoys football and basketball in her spare time, supporting Liverpool and Golden State Warriors.
