In May 2022, the young seamer captained Surrey for the first time at Chipstead in the County Twenty20, where her side were beaten by Hampshire.

She has captaincy experience, having skippered South East Stars' academy side a year earlier.

With Surrey, Cooper – a product of Worth School – has won the London Cup at the Oval and added the London Championship in 2020.
