WOMEN'S T20 BLAST ROUNDUP: Somerset suffered a ninth defeat in 11 games, while Hampshire's hopes of qualifying for Finals Day at the Kia Oval have been left in tatters
Trent Bridge: Surrey 132-9, The Blaze 122-5 - Surrey won by 10 runs
Surrey clinched their place at Finals Day in the inaugural Vitality Blast women's competition by defending a meagre 132 for 9 against The Blaze at Trent Bridge, restricting the home side to 122 for 5 to clinch a 10-run victory.
They pulled it off despite a bizarre start to The Blaze's pursuit of their 133-run target in which Alice Monaghan had to be removed from the Surrey attack for bowling two full tosses above waist height and 27 were conceded in the opening two overs.
Yet a brilliant comeback by Surrey's slower bowlers meant that The Blaze – the only side to beat Surrey after winning at the Kia Oval earlier in the season – fell short despite Kathryn Bryce's unbeaten 53, with Ryana MacDonald-Gay taking 2 for 14 and Kalea Moore 2 for 17.
Despite five dropped catches, The Blaze restricted Surrey to 132 for 9 from 20 overs, England leg-spinner Sarah Glenn finishing with 3 for 20 and Australia allrounder Heather Graham 2 for 20, Surrey unable to build on 27 from 23 balls from Alice Davidson-Richards with Grace Harris their next-highest scorer on 26 from 19.

Chester-le-Street: Durham 104-5, Hampshire 103-7 - Durham won by five wickets
Durham Women gave their slim chances of making the Vitality Blast Finals Day a timely boost with a bonus point win over Hampshire Hawks with the five wicket defeat ending the visitors' own chances of qualifying.
It was the hosts' bowlers who put them in charge at a sun-kissed Banks Homes Riverside with seamer Phoebe Turner taking three wickets in the 12th over to turn the game Durham's way before restricting the hosts to just 103 for seven from their 20 overs.
Taunton: Bears 149-8, Somerset 127-8 - Bears won by 22 runs
Sterre Kalis registered an assured half century as Warwickshire beat Somerset by 22 runs at Taunton's Cooper Associates Ground to improve their prospects of qualifying for the knockout stages of the women's Vitality Blast competition.
The Dutch international top-scored with 51 from 41 balls, struck six fours and dominated a profitable stand of 63 in 9.1 overs with Katie George for the fourth wicket as the visitors raised 149 for 8. George contributed 28 and Laura Harris made a brisk 29, while Mollie Robbins returned career-best figures of 4 for 29 to keep Somerset in the hunt.
But West Country ambition unravelled in the face of incisive bowling from Warwickshire's spinners as the home side came up short on 127 for 8.
Victory moved Warwickshire above The Blaze and into second place behind leaders Surrey, while Somerset remain rooted to the foot of the table after suffering a ninth defeat in 11 matches in the short format.
