Udeshika Probodhani is a veteran of the team, having played in 69 T20Is from her debut against Pakistan in 2009 until January 30, 2020.

She has established herself as one of Sri Lanka’s most consistent bowlers and in her T20I career to January 2020 she had taken 46 wickets at an average of 24.71, with an economy rate of 5.26 and best figures of 3-16.

She was included in the squad for the first T20 World Cup in 2009 in England and has played in every T20 World Cup since.

In the 2018 T20 World Cup she was joint leading wicket-taker for Sri Lanka, claiming four in three matches.

Alongside playing for Sri Lanka, Probodhani has also represented Colombo Cricket Club Women and Colts Cricket Club Women alongside Sri Lankan vice-captain Harshitha Madavi.

She heads into the upcoming T20 World Cup off the back of some good form and she performed well in Sri Lanka’s 2019 T20I series against Australia.

In the second T20I she was the pick of the bowlers, taking 1/12 and dismissing arguably the best female T20 batsman, Alyssa Healy.

She will hope to continue her good form in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia and build on the momentum that she has gained.
