The youngest girl to ever represent Punjab at Under-19 level, Bhatia was just 11 years of age when she made her bow for the representative side.

Five years later, she made her bow for the senior team.

The wicketkeeper grew up around cricket; her father, brother and uncle all played, while at secondary school, she was coached by Yograj Singh, the father of Indian icon Yuvraj.

At one stage, it looked as though the game might lose the young keeper, only for her to return to the game after a period of introspection.

Since making her T20I debut against South Africa in February 2018, she has been something of a regular.

Despite her age, she has become a veteran of sorts – she arrives in Australia for the T20 World Cup having represented India 40 times in the format, as well as in 15 ODIs.
