First spotted by former England and Australia women’s coach John Harmer, Molineux is the latest in a line of young spinners to arrive on the international scene for Meg Lanning’s side.

The 21-year-old was handed the Betty Wilson young player of the year award at the 2017 Allan Border Medal ceremony.

She was destined, therefore, to reach this point.

As a 12-year-old, Molineux recorded figures of seven for zero in a school match, while she also made 98 off just 60 balls a year later – a knock that included five sixes.

Fast-forward almost a decade and the allrounder has become one of the world’s finest young players; on Test debut, Molineux took four wickets and made 62 runs across two innings during a 2019 draw against England as Australia comprehensively won the Ashes.

Off the field, Molineux house-shares with Australia teammates Georgia Wareham and Tayla Vlaeminck.

During the 2019 Women’s Big Bash, Molineux announced that she would be taking a break from the game due to mental health issues.
