Born in Bogra, the reserve allrounder was coached by Muslim Uddin, who set up a sports camp for young girls and boys in her hometown.

The camp - which Uddin personally funded for numerous years - has produced various Bangladesh women cricketers.

Moni earned her 2020 T20 World Cup selection through good performances in the 2018 World T20 qualifiers and Women's Asia Cup.

Her debut came eight years ago, in August 2012 against Pakistan, and she has since made 44 appearances for the international side (up to February 1, 2020).

With bat in hand Moni has shown promise as well in the lower middle order, but has had less opportunity to bat in T20s.
