A former captain of the national side in Meg Lanning’s injury absence, the 33-year-old is Lanning’s next lieutenant these days.

The left-hander has, perhaps, never quite scored the sheer weight of international runs that her ability has suggested she might.

Now in her 11th year as a cricketer for Australia, she is closing in on 150 caps across the three formats.

Debuts in 2009 in both Test and ODI cricket were followed by a T20I bow a year later.

Just a single international century is no reflection on her talents; her maiden hundred came 10 years after her first game in Australia colours.

At Allan Border Field in October 2019, she finally reached the milestone, making 118 from 132 deliveries against Sri Lanka, bringing to an end a wait that belied a game seemingly set up for success.
