Bowling allrounder Nida Dar is one of Pakistan’s longest-standing and most experienced players, having made her T20I and ODI debuts in 2010.

In her 98 T20I matches (as of January 26, 2020), she has scored 1,086 runs at an average of 14.87, a strike rate of 95.93, and with a high score of 75.

With the ball over the same period, she has 92 T20I wickets at an average of 17.82, an economy rate of 5.28, and with best figures of 5-21.

It was in 2018 during the Women’s T20 Asia Cup against Sri Lanka that she took her first five-wicket haul - the best bowling figures by a Pakistan woman in T20Is.

She finished the tournament as the highest wicket-taker for Pakistan, taking 11 in five matches.

Dar had a very successful T20 World Cup in 2018 and she was named the standout player in the team by the ICC.

Her most notable performances in the Caribbean were 1-17 off four overs against India and 1-20 off four overs against New Zealand.

Dar stood out with her ability to put pressure on the batsmen by keeping the run-rate down, particularly in these matches against two of the most attacking T20I teams.

Recently, Dar made history by becoming the first woman from Pakistan to sign a deal with an international cricket league, representing Sydney Thunder in the WBBL in 2019.

In her 11 matches with the Thunder, she took 13 wickets at an economy rate of 6.88, and with best figures of 2-15.

Dar should be full of confidence heading into the upcoming T20 World Cup as she is in some of the best form of her life and has recent experience of playing in Australian conditions.
