Nadine De Klerk

There is no doubt De Klerk's impressive performances in past series such as the recent one in India have secured her place in the squad for the T20 World Cup

Allrounder Nadine De Klerk possesses the kind of fearlessness that the South Africa team need to show if they are to become more dominant in international cricket.

She fits perfectly into a new and aggressive style South Africa are trying to implement in an effort to compete with the world’s best teams and improve on their disappointing T20 World Cup campaign in 2018.

In her 15 T20Is so far for South Africa (as of January 20, 2020), De Klerk has scored 198 runs at an average of 28.28, a strike rate of 97.53 with a high score of 37 not out.

With the ball she has taken 14 wickets at an average of 13.57, an economy rate of 7.40 and with best figures of 3-18.

In South Africa’s recent T20I series against India in October 2019, De Klerk took eight wickets in four matches with best figures of 3-18.

There is no doubt her impressive performances in past series such as the recent one in India have secured her place in the squad for the T20 World Cup.

Although her spot in the starting XI has not always been set in stone since her T20I debut in February 2018, she has impressed in domestic cricket for Northerns Women and for the South Africa Emerging women’s team.

De Klerk will no doubt be desperate to make her World Cup debut in Australia.
