Opening batsman Muneeba Ali has earned a recall after a year away from the Pakistan team.

She earned a recall after impressing during the recent National Triangular T20 Women’s Championship.

Representing the PCB Challengers, Ali scored 116 runs in the competition at an average of 38.7, with a high score of 56.

She had represented Pakistan in 7 ODIs and 13 T20Is, as of January 26, 2020.

In her T20I career to that point she had scored 82 runs at an average of 8.20 with a high score of 18 not out.

Although she has not yet reached the levels she has achieved in domestic cricket on the international stage, she is still at the beginning of her international career and the selectors have shown great faith that she will deliver if called upon.

One of Ali's biggest strengths is her aggressive mentality - she is certainly not afraid to attack from the start.

Pakistan have struggled in T20 World Cups due to not being able to put enough runs on the board to compete with the world’s top teams, so they will be encouraged by Ali’s positive style of cricket.

The experience of playing in the national T20 triangular series with many of Pakistan’s senior players will help as she strives to make her first World Cup appearance for Pakistan.
