What's the match?

Welsh Fire face Oval Invincibles in the fifth game of the men's Hundred in 2022.

When is it taking place?

The game is due to start at 2pm BST on Sunday, August 7.

Where is the match being played?

The match will played at Sophia Gardens (Cardiff) - the home of Glamorgan.

Who's got the form?

Despite both sides having lost their opening fixtures, Hilton Cartwright showed promise with the bat for the Invincibles whilst Adam Zampa and Ben Duckett returned strong numbers for Welsh Fire.

Oval Invincibles won four of their eight matches and were just one point outside the knockout stages last season; Welsh Fire won three of their five matches but finished in seventh position.

Both sides will want to prove themselves.

What's the team news?

Welsh Fire will continue on without Jonny Bairstow but South Africa batter David Miller could be in line for his debut.

For the Invincibles, the squad as a whole appears to be unchanged based on who was available and fit for their opener.

What's the key match-up?

For Welsh Fire, Ben Duckett will once again look to take lead with the bat. He finished second in the run-scoring charts last year and will comfortably take the pressure on given the wealth of experience he has.

The contest between him and Sunil Narine, among the wickets against London Spirit and the competition's standout mystery spinner will definitely be the one to watch out for.

It's a battle of experience and sees right (Narine) take on left (Duckett).

Tom Banton and Joe Clarke will also be eager to kick off. Clarke couldn't get going in the opener, departing in the first over, whilst Banton picked out Whiteley for just six.

What's the prediction?

As mentioned before, both sides lost their opening matches.

Welsh Fire were crushed in their opening game, losing to Southern Brave by nine wickets. They failed to put up enough runs or put up a fight with the ball.

The Invincibles, however, gave fans an entertaining evening of cricket. Some late fireworks from Tom Curran, Hilton Cartwright, Narine, and most of all Danny Briggs meant the side almost pulled off an incredible chase.

Based on how those two games have turned out alongside availabilities, Oval Invincibles seem like the probable winners.
