Stuart Broad is one of six contenders for the Sports Personality of the Year Award 2020.

When is SPOTY 2020?

The BBC Sports Personality of the Year programme will be broadcast on BBC One and via BBC Sport's website on Sunday, December 20.

Who is nominated?

The shortlist was unveiled on December 1 and includes cricket's representative Broad, plus Liverpool FC captain Jordan Henderson, boxer Tyson Fury, Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, jockey Hollie Doyle, and snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan.

How is SPOTY won?

The BBC Sports Personality of the Year title is awarded to the individual who receives the most public votes.

When does voting open?

Traditionally, the voting for BBC Sports Personality of the Year takes place during the live show.

How can I vote for Stuart Broad?

Entries can be taken over the phone or online.

How do I vote online?

Voting will take place via the BBC Sports Personality of the Year website.

To vote, you will need a BBC account You can set one up by clicking here if you do not have one already.

The BBC advise viewers to sign into their BBC account prior to the vote opening on December 20.

During the live show, viewers will be told that voting has begun, at which point the online voting portal will become active.

You must be in the UK to vote online, and you will only be able to vote once.

How do I vote via telephone?

Numbers to call for each nominee will be announced during the live show.

The BBC advise that lines can become very busy and viewers trying to vote via telephone may hear an engaged tone when they attempt to cast their vote.
