Former England captain and broadcasting legend David Gower joined up with The Cricketer editor and Analyst Simon Hughes to review the first day’s play of the England v West Indies Test match at Old Trafford last week.

The pair were recording the pilot for a new audio show designed to provide listeners with in-depth analysis and thought-provoking observations, set against the backdrop of the last hour of play on day one of the Test.

They were joined by guest Mark Ramprakash, the former England batsman and more recently batting coach for Joe Root’s men, who provided fascinating insight into the England dressing room. You can hear a sneak preview of the show by clicking here:

The show, titled Cricketer Radio, is seeking a naming rights sponsor to support its coverage. The show will be brought to listeners in association with the sponsor, who will gain access to an upmarket, mature and intelligent audience, who are loyal and passionate about cricket. Alongside multiple personal endorsements by the hosts, pre-recorded advertising slots and product are also included in this package.
