The nervous nineties is a concept familiar to all cricketers and despite facing some fiery deliveries The Cricketer magazine is still standing tall at the crease on 99 not out, with a readership of 136,000.

We are celebrating this milestone with a series of specially commissioned features, with our latest issue championing the last 50 years of county cricket. Players from each decade contributed to paint a rich and vibrant picture of the domestic game, charting how personalities and professionalism has changed in half a century.

The issue featured a stunning front cover designed by Art Director Geoff Barton, with modern players seamlessly woven into a backdrop of Bournemouth’s Dean Park in 1970. It’s a cover that has drawn rave reviews from readers across the country.

If this pandemic has proven anything, it is that readers of The Cricketer love the magazine. Subscriber numbers are growing at their fastest rate in over a decade while the sales on the newsstand have been remarkably strong despite Covid-19.
