In 2019, The Cricketer's digital platforms achieved unprecedented success.

Thecricketer.com hosted more unique users last year than in the previous six years combined (representing year-on-year growth of 205% and two-year growth of 696%), while our social media following rose by more than 70% to over 700,000.

We covered the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in detail. Commercial partnerships with Cricket19 and Sporting Index gave us the financial support to commit resources across the board, and The Cricketer’s reporters were at 42 of the 48 matches in the tournament.

A Cricket World Cup Portal - a standalone microsite within thecricketer.com, designed, built and populated by our five-strong team, provided readers with more than 250 pages of information and analysis, in video and written form.

And this approach to covering the elite level of the game extended into the Ashes later in the year.

The ECB has invested tremendously in women's cricket and, in 2019, we attempted to show our commitment to providing better gender balance in our coverage, putting increased resources into the England Women's side and the Kia Super League, and amplifying the women's county scene by syndicating the County Championship reports by website CricketHer.

Over the coming 12 months, there are two T20 World Cups to report on, as well as the inaugural season of the men's and women's Hundred, the Under 19 World Cup, the domestic county season and franchise T20 tournaments around the world.

The County Hub - introduced midway through the 2018 season - grew substantially.

We sent reporters to every major matchday - the last Lord's 50-over final, the final day of the Championship at Taunton, and T20 Finals Day at Edgbaston - to ensure our readers never missed a beat.

In addition to our well-received regular county features, regular visitors enjoyed more than 50 exclusive interviews with the men and women who make the domestic game tick.

Thecricketer.com will cover all these events in the same forensic detail that was applied to the 2019 World Cup, while the arrival of additional members of staff to the digital desk will give us the opportunity to explore video even more.

Our ever-improving Google ranking and expanding social media reach (we intend to break the 1,000,000 follower barrier in 2020) is making both our website and The Cricketer brand ever more discoverable to more and more people across the world.

Around 45 per cent of our audience is UK-based, but we have grown substantially in South Asia, where a commercial tie-up with PSL side Multan Sultans continues into 2020 (we will have a reporter in Pakistan for the tournament).

We will add to our audio arsenal, with The Cricketer's Cricket Club - a weekly panel discussion show - and further podcasts, which are to be announced at a later date.
