There are so many beautiful places across Australia that enthusiastic cricket players can enjoy. In addition to this, Australia showcases some of the best cricket grounds in the world too, where fans can unite and come along to support their favourite cricket teams. With all that being said, we thought to showcase and actually talk about the best sports in the land down under, where the best tournaments have actually taken place before and previously.

Cricket alongside other sports have a huge popularity on the pitch and off the pitch. You can always make sure to interact with your favourite teams and players through cricket betting. It has increasingly become another way to enjoy the sport-and make some money from it!

The Gabba

The Brisbane Cricket Ground is a perfect example of a beautifully exceptional cricket ground. Located in Queensland, this place hosted the first ever cricket match in 1896, during the month of December. Of course, huge renovations have been done since then, it still is pretty much one of the most beautiful sites you can visit in the entire world! People call it the Gabba, due to the Woolloongabba region that it was made in. ABC called this stadium ‘a centre for sport and building new relationships’.

Not only does it host cricket games, you will find that it lays host to Rugby, Baseballs, Soccer and other sporting events that take place within certain seasons. This stadium is a favourite, when it comes to hosting tournaments on an international level, especially test matches and friendly matches in the month of January. To date this location has hosted over 660 live matches for different sports since its conception in 1895.

Melbourne Cricket Ground

This ground is the largest within the whole of Australia and in the top 10 largest within the entire world, for the capacity of people that it actually holds. Many people often nickname it as the G, due to the fact it has such a long name. Made in 1853, it also is one of the oldest out there. Big events that it has actually been host to, include the Olympics within the year 1956, the 2006 Commonwealth tournament and of course the Cricket tournaments in 1992 and 2015 for the World Cup. Even AFL matches take place here in the colder winter months, as that is when the hotter climate hits Australia!

The capacity of this stadium is over 130,000 people, however due to safety updates and renovations etc, now the stadium will not allow more than 95,000 people instead. Standing audience can also be included on top of these figures, with up to 5000 to be exact as extra capacity. The first ever cricket match that was played in this venue was during the New South Wales match against Victoria, during 1856.

The Adelaide Oval

This stadium is located within the Parklands and is very well known for hosting Australian Football and cricket too! It does also provide reception for other sporting events like Rugby, however the biggest priority is cricket events. The first ever cricket event to take place here was in 1871. This was due to Adelaide actually being the central headquarters from the Australian Cricket Association. The first match to make history in Adelaide, was South Australia and Tasmania and there were thousands of people that came to watch and support the sporting stars that featured.

Capacity wise, this stadium is not the biggest in the list, holding a maximum of 50,000, with a few thousand here and there that can actually attend events standing. The biggest hosted event with the largest crowds to cheer, was during the A-League Final in 2016. There were over 60,000 supporters that came along to cheer on the teams that had made it to the final hurdle. The great thing about this stadium is that it is open for private events and community sports, making it a hugely popular location for many fans and Aussies.

Sydney Cricket Ground

Sydney is a sports hotspot, so it definitely comes at no surprise that this place is highly favourites by many sporting fans and teams. Built in the year 1848, you will find that this place hosts beyond your usual cricket matches, it also provides an open venue for international football and American sports, being that the location is a high tourist hub.

Many of Australia's big teams such as New South Wales, AFL Sydney Swans and Sydney Sixers train and come to the venue often to play matches. The first ever match to take place here, was in 1887, when the Civil Service Cricket Challenge was ongoing and thus the final was decided to be played in the cricket ground of Sydney. From the first match in 1887, there have been over 860 games played from all major leagues and sport teams all over the world. When a stadium provides over 50,000 people, you can understand as to why sporting events want to select this spot as the one place to host. The stadium continuously goes under works and renovations to make it the best and optimal spot for sports of the future.

It is very usual for these Australian stadiums to make their way into the news outlets of Australia, being that they are so popular and relevant to all Australian sporting events today. < rel="nofollow" href="https://www.news.com.au/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" rel="noopener">News.com is a perfect place to start, to find out when such events are due to take place!
