What is it?

The final of England and Wales' domestic 50-overs-a-side tournament called the Royal London One-Day Cup, which replaced the ECB 40 competition in 2014.

When is it?

The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 25, with it set to start at 11AM (GMT).

Where is it?

The match will be played at Lord's Cricket Ground.

It will be the 56th, and potentially last, one-day final at the ground, with Trent Bridge due to take over hosting duties in 2020 for the next five years.

Who's playing?

The match is going to be between Hampshire and Somerset.

Defending champions Hampshire beat Kent by 61 runs in the Royal London One-Day Cup final last year, and will seek to become the first side since Sussex in 2009 to win consecutive one-day competitions.

Meanwhile, Somerset are appearing at their first final at Lord's since 2011, when defeat to Surrey in the CB40 final saw them suffer their fifth straight cup final defeat.

How did they get there?

Hampshire got to the final by beating Lancashire in the semi-final by four wickets, while Somerset crushed Notts Outlaws by 115 runs at Trent Bridge to reach the showpiece occasion at Lord's.

Rilee Rossouw was the hero for the defending champions in their match, with the man who scored 125 in last year's final producing a vital 85 off 109 balls.

The South African was also ably assisted by James Vince's 79 from 86 balls as Hampshire chased down a target of 241 with six balls remaining.

Somerset overcame Notts Outlaws largely thanks to a fantastic all-round display. Peter Trego and Azhar Ali made 73 and 72 respectively to propel Somerset to 337 all out, which included a brisk knock of 59 from Tom Banton.

That was before Roelof van der Merwe took 3-29, while the remaining wickets were shared between the other six bowlers.

Who are the favourites?

Most bookies are putting Hampshire as the favourites to defend their crown with odds of around 11/10, while Somerset are fancied at 4/5.

This is reinforced by the fact that Hampshire finished top of the South Group table, and also recorded a seven-wicket win over Somerset as they accumulated 14 points from a possible 16.

Hampshire's only 50-over loss this season came at the hands of Essex in late April, while Somerset suffered defeats to their opponents on Saturday as well as to Gloucestershire and Middlesex as they finished third in the South Group table.

Who's in and who's out?

The big teams news this week is that the ICC have barred Hampshire duo James Vince and Liam Dawson from playing in the final.

The pair were included in England's final World Cup squad and are due to link up with the national squad on Friday ahead of the warm-up game against Australia.

ICC regulations dictate that players selected for their country's World Cup squads cannot play in other competitions from May 23 until the end of the tournament, leaving Hampshire with the prospect of playing the final without two of their key performers.

Somerset look to have a clean bill of health ahead of the final.

How can I follow it?

The game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Cricket (Sky 404, Virgin 504, TalkTalk 405) in the UK.

The Cricketer's social media channels will have updates throughout the day, with reaction to follow via our website after play has concluded.
