The Pakistan Cricket Board have opened an investigation into the marketing process which resulted in a biscuit-shaped trophy being made for the recent T20 series against Australia, according to reports on the subcontinent.

PTI claim that the PCB's director of sales and marketing, Naila Bhatti, has resigned following the fallout to the prize's unveiling, which sparked plenty of mockery on social media.

The series, won 3-0 by Pakistan, was sponsored by TUC Biscuits - specialists in cheese crackers - and the trophy was designed in their product's image.

The PCB do not seem to have taken the online reaction well, however.

An anonymous source being quoted by PTI as saying that: "The silverware was an embarrassment for us and investigation is being held as to how the concerned department allowed this to happen."
