Gabriel made shoulder contact with Kayes early in Bangladesh's first innings in Chittagong and was warned by umpire Aleem Dar
Shannon Gabriel has been banned for one Test by the ICC following a physical altercation with Imrul Kayes during West Indies' clash with Bangladesh.
Gabriel made shoulder contact with Kayes early in Bangladesh's first innings in Chittagong and was warned by umpire Aleem Dar.
Two overs later, however, he appeared to make contact for a second time prior to an exchange of words with the opposing batsman.
Gabriel was cited over the incident, fined 30 per cent of his match fee and handed two demerit points, taking his total to five and triggering an automatic one-game suspension.
He will therefore be ineligible for selection for the second Test in Mirpur, which is due to start on November 30.
