India legend Sachin Tendulkar and former West Indies quick Courtney Walsh will lead the teams for next month's all-star bushfire relief charity match.

Both men will coach the sides involved, with Tendulkar linking up with Ricky Ponting's XI and Walsh working alongside Warne.

The match will be played as a curtain-raiser to the Big Bash League final on February 8, at a venue to be confirmed.

Proceeds from the back-to-back matches, as well as Australia and India's women's T20 in Melbourne on the same day, will go towards the Australian Red Cross disaster relief and recovery fund.

Justin Langer, Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee, Shane Watson, Alex Blackwell and Michael Clarke have also been confirmed for the game. Brian Lara and MS Dhoni have also been targetted.

Cricket Australia CEO Kevin Roberts said: "We are absolutely honoured to be welcoming Sachin and Courtney back to Australia where they both enjoyed a lot of success as players, and we can't wait to have them involved in what is going to be a special day.

"We're looking forward to our people at CA and the entire Australian cricket family coming together for the Big Appeal."

The venue for the matches will be confirmed at the end of the month when The Qualifer involving the top two sides in the Big Bash is staged.

Melbourne Stars are already assured of a top spot and if they win the game will ensure that both charity events take place in Australia's garden city.
