PAKISTAN

Fakhar Zaman (13): Pakistan needed much more than this tame 31-ball effort from him if they were to harbour any hopes of a miracle. Moderate return for the tournament – 186 runs. 4

Imam ul-Haq (100): Impressive innings, by far his best of the tournament. Lovely checked drives and flicks through midwicket. 9

Babar Azam (96): Batted very well, has had a superb – record-breaking for Pakistan – tournament. I guess if anyone could have got them up to 400 it was him, but he wouldn’t have set the team tactics to be fair. 9

Mohammad Hafeez (27 & 0-32): Another handy innings, and adequate bowling, but a no-more-than-useful World Cup, his last. 5

Haris Sohail (3): Disappointment after his superb innings against South Africa at Lord’s. 3

Sarfaraz Ahmed (3*): Hurt his arm batting. Wish he’d told his team to go for 400. 4

Imad Wasim (43 & 0-26): Excellent late-order hitting. Tidy bowling. 8

Shadab Khan (1 & 2-59): Played his part. Pakistan look better with him in the side. 7

Wahab Riaz (2 & 1-33): Bowled well, and has improved as the tournament has gone on. 7

Shaheen Afridi (0* & 6-35): Best figures in a World Cup by a Pakistan bowler, and his first five-wicket haul in ODIs. Took a wicket with the first ball of two spells. Didn’t look that special in the ODI series v England, but has improved massively. 10

Mohammad Amir (8 & 1-31): Played his part, and has had a fine tournament. 8

BANGLADESH

Tamim Iqbal (8): Fell early. Slightly below-par World Cup for him. 4

Soumya Sarkar (22): So-so knock. 5

Shakib Al Hasan (64 & 0-57): Stuck on 11 wickets, but batted really well again. Superb World Cup. 8

Mushfiqur Rahim (16): Unlucky to be bowled off an inside edge. 6

Liton Das (32): Handy knock, but too much to do. 7

Mahmudullah (29): Bit sluggish, but has had a useful tournament. 7

Mosaddek Hossain (16 & 0-27): Couldn’t turn the game, or have a major influence on the tournament. 6

Mohammad Saifuddin (0* & 3-77): Kept attacking so was expensive. First-ball duck. 6

Mehedi Hasan (7* & 1-30): Bewilderingly parsimonious spell. 8

Mashrafe Mortaza (15 & 0-46): Adequate bowling. Only one wicket in whole campaign for skipper’s final World Cup. 5

Mustafizur Rahman (1 & 5-75): Five wickets, 20 in total, great World Cup. 9
