The fast bowler's deal was due to expire this winter but some impressive T20 Blast form helped win a renewal
Somerset have announced the retention of Ollie Sale on a two-year deal.
The 25-year-old seamer was out of contract this winter but made sufficient progress in 2020 to win a new contract.
Sale made his first Somerset appearances since his senior debut in 2016, taking 13 wickets in nine T20 Blast outings.
He finished as the club's highest wicket-taker in the competition as they narrowly missed out on a quarter-final place.
"It is very exciting to be a part of such a talented and tight-knit group and there is definitely a belief among us that we can continue to push for silverware," he said.
"This year has given me some great experiences to learn and reflect on, and I look forward to continuing to develop my career and winning games with Somerset over the next two seasons."
Director of cricket Andy Hurry added: "Ollie worked incredibly diligently over the winter which resulted in him earning the opportunity to play a significant role during this summer’s Vitality Blast.
"He has demonstrated the tenacity, determination and inner drive to succeed and with the opportunities and experiences gained this summer we really look forward to working with him over the next two years and that journey continuing with the club."
