Ahead of this huge summer of cricket, hear from three cricketing greats courtesy of the Lord's Taverners
2019 will be the biggest summer English cricket has ever seen and the Lord's Taverners' Spring Lunch will be the perfect preview to the action.
There will be huge pressure on Eoin Morgan and his England side to deliver at a home World Cup before the Test side welcome a resurgent Australia for the Ashes.
What must it be like inside the minds of the world's best cricketers, and how do they deal with the weight of a nation's expectation on their shoulders?
The annual lunch will be hosted in the Nursery Pavilion at Lord's and three cricketing greats will answer all burning questions ahead of the World Cup.
Present at the event on May 20 will be legendary West Indies fast bowler Michael Holding, former England paceman Angus Fraser, and ex-West Indies coach Stuart Law.
All have played at the top level and know all about performing under pressure.
Following a Shepherd Neame beer reception guests will enjoy a three course lunch before the panel session begins, to be hosted by Dave Fulton from Sky Sports.
Lord's Taverners president Sir Trevor McDonald
The Tavs are a world renowned charity and have been enhancing lives through sport for nearly 70 years.
President of the charity, Sir Trevor McDonald tells us more.
"Cricket has always played a huge role in my life and it’s fantastic to see the role the sport is now playing through the Lord’s Taverners programmes in enhancing the lives of so many disadvantaged and disabled young people across the country – both in terms of encouraging a healthier lifestyle but also learning important life skills such as team work and communication.
"To hear from such great names from the world of cricket will not only make our Spring Lunch a fantastic day out that everyone can enjoy, but you will also be raising much needed funds to help continue our great work across the UK."
All money raised will go to the Lord's Taverners, the UK's leading youth cricket and disabled sports charity.
"The Lord’s Taverners' aim is to improve the prospects of disadvantaged and disabled young people through sport and recreation." Said Mike Hartwell, Head of Marketing & Communications for the Lord's Taverners.
"We are achieving this by building links between communities, encouraging groups to play sport together and providing vital facilities that enable young people to fulfil their potential."
