The former England chief replaces the New Zealand, who has ruled out travelling to the UK this summer
Trent Rockets have replaced Stephen Fleming with Andy Flower for the men's Hundred.
The New Zealander has withdrawn from the role, opting against travelling to the United Kingdom this summer when restrictions are likely to still be in place.
Working alongside captain Lewis Gregory will be Flower, who since leaving his role with England has coached in various franchise leagues across the world.
In 2020, Flower took charge of Multan Sultans in the PSL and St Lucia Zouks in the CPL, and recently led Delhi Bulls in the T10 League.
"Stephen (Fleming) will be a tough act to follow, but the guys put together a really strong squad in the original Draft with a mix of international and local talent," said Flower.
"We have built on it in this Draft with Van Der Gugten and Patel joining. The Hundred is a really exciting competition and we can’t wait to get going at Trent Bridge this summer."
Fleming added: "I’m really disappointed that I won’t be coach of the side this summer but ultimately family has to come first.
"The current global crisis has made it very difficult to travel and the extra time needed for quarantines has made it hard to get the right work-home balance.
"Andy is a world-class coach with experience all over the world and I’m sure the Trent Rockets men’s team will have a fantastic first season of The Hundred with him behind them."
