Kent Spitfires have signed Mohammad Amir for the second half of the T20 Blast.
The ex-Pakistan seamer, who retired from international cricket in December 2020, is expected to be available for the final seven matches of the campaign.
That means his spell could begin on June 25 against former side Essex, who he represented 21 times across spells in 2017 and 2019, when the Eagles went on to scoop the title.
Amir could also feature in the knock-out rounds of the competition should the Spitfires progress.
His arrival is subject to Karachi Kings' progress in the Pakistan Super League, which is due to run between June 1-20.
And with Pakistan currently on the UK travel red-list due to a rise in Covid-19 cases, a period of quarantine may also affect his availability.
"I am excited to join a Kent team full of potential," said Amir, who has 220 wickets in T20 cricket.
"I have always enjoyed playing at Canterbury, and I hope I will be able to help Kent win a trophy this year.”
