Scorecard

Gulf Giants maintained their unbeaten record with a crushing 101-run victory over Dubai Capitals in Sharjah.

James Vince was the standout performer for the Giants, scoring 76 runs off 48 balls, including four fours and four sixes, to help his side close on 181 for 6.

There was also a handy contribution from Shimron Hetmyer, who scored 37 not out off 19 deliveries at No.5, including sharing a 54-run sixth-wicket stand off just 30 balls with Liam Dawson.

Akif Raja (2 for 23) was the pick of the Dubai Capitals bowling attack.

In reply, the Capitals were in disarray inside five overs, losing Robin Uthappa, Chirag Suri and Rovman Powell to slip to 31 for 3. And the situation only worsened, with Joe Root and Yusuf Pathan also departing before the halfway mark.

A 17-run stand between Dasun Shanaka and Fabian Allen offered a glimmer of hope that they might go down with a fight but following the former's dismissal for 23 (19) in the 12th over, the Capitals combusted.

They lost five wickets for the addition of just 19 runs to slump to 80 all out in 14.3 overs.

Root (20 off 19) was the only player other than Shanaka to reach double figures while David Wiese (3 for 3) and Chris Jordan (3 for 12) each picked up three wickets. Richard Gleeson (2 for 14), Sanchit Sharma (1 for 26) and Rehan Ahmed (1 for 19) were the other wicket-takers.
