Experienced legspinners Imran Tahir and Tabraiz Shamsi are among the overseas signings announced by Guyana Amazon Warriors ahead of the Caribbean Premier League.
Forty-three-year-old Tahir, a seasoned professional of franchise cricket around the world, returns to the Warriors for his fifth consecutive season.
His 60 wickets in 43 matches makes him the franchise’s record wicket-taker.
Shamsi, on the other hand, joins the Warriors for the first time, having previously played for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots from 2015 to 2018.
The wrist-spinner is currently the best-ranked bowler in T20 internationals and has 33 dismissals at an average of 19.57 in the CPL. Only three players have taken more wickets at a better average.
The two South African spinners are joined by compatriots Colin Ingram, who makes the Warriors his third CPL franchise, and Heinrich Klaasen, who comes to the competition for the first time.
Hard-hitting opening batter Paul Stirling of Ireland has also been signed by Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Warriors will complete their roster during the CPL draft on Thursday (July 7).
