South African powerhouses Quinton de Kock and David Miller will join Barbados Royals for the new Caribbean Premier League season
South African powerhouses Quinton de Kock and David Miller will join Barbados Royals for the new Caribbean Premier League season.
Wicketkeeper-batter De Kock is set to play in his first CPL, having appeared in multiple franchise leagues across the globe.
The 29-year-old, who called an end to his Test career last December, has played 264 T20s, scoring 7,868 runs at an average of 33.48.
Miller, however, makes Royals his third CPL side, having previously represented Jamaica Tallawahs and St Lucia Kings in the competition.
The middle-order batter has 8,445 T20 runs at a strike rate of 138.78.
Spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman also joins for the 2022 tournament, having previously featured for Tallawahs.

The Afghanistan international finished the 2020 season as the competition’s second-highest wicket-taker and has accumulated almost 200 T20 wickets at the tender age of just 21.
Pakistan batter Azam Khan, returning for his second successive season, and South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch, who was recently picked up in the Indian Premier League by Rajasthan Royals, complete the overseas line-up for the Royals.
Royals head coach Trevor Penney said: "We are delighted to have signed some of the best overseas players of the T20 format, who we feel will complement our retentions perfectly.
"From my perspective, these signings are an indication of the kind of cricket we want to play here at Barbados, and I'm confident going into the drafts that we’re building a talented and dynamic squad to vie for the title this season."
The Royals will fill the five remaining slots in their squad at the CPL draft on July 7.
